Mazda returns to shores of Lake Geneva next month for the 87th Geneva International Motor Show with the European debut of the all-new Mazda CX-5 along with two new model upgrades in the form of the 2017 Mazda CX-3 and 2017 Mazda2.
Mazda started production of the all-new Mazda CX-5 yesterday at Ujina Plant No. 2 near the company’s global headquarters in Hiroshima. The compact SUV recently unveiled at the 2016 Los Angeles Auto Show will go on sale in Japan in February before being rolled out in other markets around the world.
Mazda revealed the all-new CX-5 today in the run-up to the 2016 Los Angeles Auto Show. It’s a completely redesigned edition of the compact SUV that in 2012 kicked-off a generation of critically acclaimed cars featuring the company’s efficient lightweight SKYACTIV Technology and award-winning KODO – Soul of Motion designs.
Mazda has appointed Roberto Pietrantonio as the new managing director of Mazda Motor Italy. The 47 year old, who is currently director of communications and sales planning at Mazda Italy, will assume his new role on 1 November. He replaces Andrea Fiaschetti, whose untimely death in spring came as a shock in the automobile industry.
Passion for driving meets celebration of film: Mazda is back at the Rome Film Fest this year with a number of installations including the Mazda Cinema Hall, Mazda Lounge, and for the first time ever, the Mazda MX-5 drive-in. There are also opportunities to experience “Drive Together”, which takes the Mazda experience beyond cars.
With global production having passed five million cars at the end of April 2016, the highly acclaimed Mazda3 is updated with the launch of the 2017 Mazda3. Highlights across the full Hatchback and Sedan range include subtle exterior changes and an updated cabin. And, with the introduction of G-Vectoring Control, the debut of Mazda’s SKYACTIV-VEHICLE DYNAMICS technology in the Mazda3 range.
Matsuhiro Tanaka will be the new Vice President of Mazda’s European Research & Development Centre effective 1 September. The 55 year old comes to the Oberursel, Germany facility from Mazda’s Vehicle Development Division in Japan.
