Discover the new Peugeot 207CC

Elegant design, high quality finish and a drive to match..... the 207CC looks set to build on the massive success of the 206CC and set to build on the success of the 206 CC and set a new benchmark in the coupe cabriolet sector.

207 CC - Raw emotion

In the 1930s Peugeot was the forerunner of a new body style, the coupé cabriolet. The 601, 401 and 402 Eclipse heralded an innovative roof system that has become embedded in the Marque’s genes, giving rise in the 21st century to two new stars in the Peugeot galaxy, the 206 CC and the 307 CC, of which more than 500,000 have already rolled off the production lines:

The elegant 307 CC, a true four seater, has already become the car of choice of 150,000 owners since its launch in 2003.

The success of this body shape is based on its extraordinary ability to be two cars in one:

a 100 % authentic cabriolet, a true lifestyle car at one with the environment;

The 206 CC, with its 2+2 architecture, is the world’s best selling coupé cabriolet with more than 360,000 units produced since 2000;

a 100 % authentic coupé offering style and comfort, providing a cabriolet with a rigid roof which is more able to preserve its integrity in all weather conditions whatever the circumstances.

A very strong personality

The 2 + 2 architecture was intentionally chosen for the 207 CC to offer a high level specification combining:

an elegant and stylish design in both the coupé or cabriolet configuration, thanks to a fully automatic folding electric roof which folds into the boot;

an overall length that is shared with the 207 hatchback of 4.037 m, as is the sports design of the front;

supportive seats providing good comfort levels for both front passengers;

two further seats available at the rear;

excellent performance in terms of passive safety, in particular the “roll-over” protection provided by two active pyrotechnic rear roll-over protection bars;

a luggage area providing a practical luggage space with a maximum capacity of 449 litres in the coupé configuration and 187 litres in the cabriolet configuration. It also accommodates a space saver spare wheel.

New promises of driving pleasure …
… as well as the many other sources of driving pleasure available on the 207, such as its high level of driveability and dynamic handling both, providing a guarantee of excellent active safety.

Balanced dimensions

The 207 CC shares with the hatchback the but stands out clearly by its reduced height of “Sports” design at the front: 1.397 m (- 75 mm) accentuating the coupé effect.

a length of 4.037 m

a wheelbase of 2.540 m

a width of 1.750 m,

Looks that arouse emotion

Styled by the Peugeot Style Centre, the compact and purposeful body shape of the 207 CC exudes a natural dynamism, both in the coupé and cabriolet configuration.

The 207 CC adopts the very expressive “sports” front design of the hatchback. Its slender profile and pure lines evoke a dynamic impression, which, is characterised by the flowing contours of the lower body panels. The flowing design of the rear creates a streamlined boot line, which, is highlighted by a brushed metal trim that encircles the passenger compartment.

On the coupé version, the large glazed rear window extends to the boot lid, while in the cabriolet configuration – open to the environment – the profile accentuates the chrome-plated contours of the rear roll-over protection bars.

The fitment of either 16” or 17” alloy wheels (as standard or optional) adds a touch of dynamism to the 207 CC whether it is in the coupe or cabriolet configuration.

Dynamic petrol and diesel engines

Offered with two petrol engines and one diesel engine, the 207 CC provides a comprehensive range of power trains for this market segment:

1.6 litre 16v petrol, 88 kW ( 120 bhp)

5-speed manual or automatic gearbox with "Porsche Tiptronic" sequential control

1.6 litre petrol THP 16v 110 kW ( 150 bhp)

5-speed manual gearbox

1.6 litre 16v HDi DPFS 80 kW ( 110 bhp)

5-speed manual gearbox

1.6 litre 16v petrol 88 kW ( 120 bhp) – EP6

After the 1.6 litre THP (EP6 DT) with a power of 110 kW ( 150 bhp.), the EP6 is the second engine ~ developed from the co-operation with the BMW Group to be featured in a Peugeot vehicle. It has a maximum power of 88 kW ( 120 bhp.) at 6000 rpm and a maximum torque of 160 Nm at 4250 rpm. This torque is available very uniformly, since even at low engine speeds (2000 rpm), it attains 140 Nm, or 88 % of its maximum capacity, thereby ensuring a wide operating range.

This engine’s advanced technology is a genuine first in this market segment. In addition to its variable valve timing system for the inlet and exhaust camshafts, a variable inlet valve lift system allows the maximum valve opening to be adjusted gradually according to the position of the accelerator pedal. The combination of the VVT system and the variable inlet valve lift system improves the petrol engine’s thermodynamic efficiency by significantly reducing fuel consumption and therefore CO2 emissions, guaranteeing a more spontaneous response and greater engine flexibility.

1.6 litre 16v petrol THP 110 kW ( 150 bhp) – EP6 DT

Launched initially under the bonnet of the 207 hatchback, the 1.6 litre THP, standing for "Turbo High Pressure", now finds an application in the 207 CC. It offers incredible engine flexibility through its maximum torque of 240 Nm available from an engine speed of only 1400 rpm and its maximum power of 110 kW at 5800 rpm. Its innovative Twin-Scroll turbocharger and variable inlet valve timing system combined with direct petrol injection ensure a remarkable compromise between performance and fuel consumption.

1.6 litre 16v HDi DPFS 80 kW ( 110 bhp) – DV6 TED4

From launch, the 207 CC will benefit from an HDi diesel engine, which is both dynamic and economical to use, offering a maximum power of 80 kW at 4000 rpm and a maximum torque of 240 Nm from 1750 rpm, or 260 Nm with the overboost function. Combining this HDi engine with a diesel particulate filter system (DPFS) and following the success of the 307 and 206 CC HDi, Peugeot has again shown that a diesel cabriolet is an appealing combination.

A magic roof "made by Peugeot"

The folding roof is the result of Peugeot’s expertise in the manufacture of coupé-cabriolets. It has been designed 100% in-house according to a rigorous specification in terms of quality, operating strength and durability. Assembled on a dedicated production line at the 207 CC Madrid manufacturing plant, it is then transferred to the main 207 CC assembly line. Developed from the 206 CC, the operation of the 207 CC roof offers a superior level of convenience. Its operation is entirely automatic without the need for any manual roof release. The only manual operation consists in pressing a button for around 25 seconds during which time the opening or closing cycle is completed after all four windows have been lowered automatically. The operation can also be carried out while driving at a speed of up to 10 km/h.

The operation cycle is controlled by eleven sensors, which monitor different phases of the operation and are controlled by an electronic control unit (ECU) and six hydraulic actuators, supplied by a 135 bar hydraulic pump unit.

To facilitate sealing of the front windows, they are fitted with a “short drop” system. When the door is opened they are lowered automatically by a few millimetres, thereby releasing them from the tubular roof seal. On closing the door they automatically resume their initial position.

Rigidity and dynamic handling

The 207 CC shares with the other 207 body styles the very rigid PSA Peugeot Citroën Group No 1 platform, providing an extremely strong foundation, which has been further developed to take into account the special features of a coupé cabriolet (in particular structural reinforcements and tie-rods under the body). The reinforced structure also helps to suppress noise ensuring good comfort levels, as do "stiffeners" mounted on the rear sill panels.

Torsional rigidity for a torque of 100 daNm applied to the “axles” is 1 mrad in the coupé configuration and 1.50 mrad in the cabriolet configuration.

This rigidity allows the suspension to operate to its full potential, thereby contributing to driving pleasure. Excellent use has also been made of the wide track and excellent features of the 207 hatchback. They have been evolved and adapted to match the natural balance of this body shape and further developed in terms of dynamic performance according to the different engines.

These features include the following elements:

a McPherson type front suspension;

a rear suspension consisting of a deformable cross member with an integral anti-roll function, with the stiffness adjusted to the characteristics of this open-top body;

dampers set to a pressure of 5 bar at the front and rear;

16’’ or 17’’ wheels clad with 195/55R16 and 205/45R17 tyres respectively, according to the particular engine;

electric power steering with parameters specially adapted to the different performance levels;

braking assured by four disc brakes measuring 283 x 26 mm at the front and 249 x 9 mm at the rear;

A high level of safety

Safety is a major strength of the specification of the 207 CC. Its design takes into account multiple possibilities, including the fitment of active roll-over protection bars, a feature previously unknown in this market segment.

To limit injury resulting from front and side impact…

The structure of the 207 CC incorporates a series of special reinforcements to compensate for the absence of a rigid roof superstructure and hence preserve the integrity of the passenger compartment:

strengthened side sill assemblies,

reinforced central “transmission tunnel”,

reinforced A-Pillars,

reinforced B-Pillars,

longitudinal door reinforcements

These different structural elements specific to the 207 CC are combined with elements shared with the hatchback, such as the double impact absorption beams for front impact. The latter also helping to protect pedestrians.

To enjoy the cabriolet body shape without reservations: the roll-over protection system for occupants…

This consists of two active roll-over protection bars located just behind the rear seats. The chrome-plated roll-over bars blend in with the dynamic style of the 207 CC and constitute invaluable "body guards".

When the angle and speed of rotation sensors detect a critical situation, the ECU, which analyses data from the sensors, sends an instruction to the pyrotechnic system to release the springs holding the roll over protection bars. The latter are then deployed in 175 ms to a height of 200 mm.

The protection assured by the pyrotechnic roll over protection bars is also supplemented by the strengthening of the front windscreen pillars.

High-performance means of restraint

The 207 CC is equipped with four 3-point inertia reel seat belts with force limiters, coupled with visual and audible fasten-seat-belt indicators.

The pyrotechnic pretensioning front seat belt system is activated in the event of front impact and simultaneously with the active roll-over protection bars in the event of roll-over.

Five air bags, three of which are specific to this body shape and its particular driving position, are available to protect occupants:

two adaptive front airbags;

two "head/chest" side air bags;

a steering column air bag designed to protect the driver’s lower limbs.

For child safety, the front passenger seat of the 207 CC is equipped with a 3-point Isofix mounting system.

In-car enjoyment

One, two, three, four occupants…

The design of the specific architecture of the 207 CC ensures an internal passenger compartment length of 1501 mm, slightly more than the 206. This is despite the hundred or so millimetres taken up by the integration of new features such as the roll-over protection bars and the presence in the boot of a spare wheel.

The 207 CC features sport seats which offer an even lower driving position than the hatchback, to meet the expectations of users of coupécabriolets. This is combined with two rear seats for short trips which provides a higher level of specification compared to that of a strictly two-seater car.

A real boot …

With its regular cube-like shape, the boot of the 207 CC accommodates a spare wheel and offers a volume (VDA) of 370 dm3 (449 litres of water) in the coupé configuration, and 145 dm3 (187 litres of water) in the cabriolet configuration under the load space roller blind separating the area to accommodate the folded roof.

To benefit fully from the cabriolet configuration even when parked, the contents of the boot are protected by a carefully designed permanent locking system.

Multi-sensory comfort

Intelligent air conditioning…

The 207 CC comes with either manual or automatic dual-zone air conditioning, allowing the front occupants to control their ideal temperature individually. This air conditioning system has been optimised to detect when the vehicle is in the cabriolet configuration and take into account of the “opening” of the passenger compartment, adapting its automatic functions accordingly.

A fragrance diffuser…

The 207 CC can also be fitted with a fragrance diffuser perfectly integrated into the vehicle fascia. Ideally suited to a coupé cabriolet, this innovative system (patent pending) allows occupants to enjoy the fragrance of their choice at any time, or to give priority to nature’s own ambiences. A choice of seven fragrances are available.

Hi-tech audio and telematics equipment

The 207 CC can include the following range of equipment:

an RDS RD4 radio/ CD;
an RT3 telematics system with 7" 16/9 multifunction colour display This comprises of an RDS radio/ CD, a GSM telephone, and GPS
satellite navigation with colour cartography. This system allows you (according to countries) to also benefit from a free of charge and for an unlimited period a location-finding emergency call service;
a JBL Hi-fi system;
a Bluetooth hands-free phone kit, combined with the RD4 radio/ CD.

The passenger compartment of the 207 CC evokes quality and personality by the careful choice of materials and colours, including the exclusive “Grinium” trimming, or metallic detailing such as the aluminium pedals on certain versions. The "sport" seats can be trimmed in either cloth, leather or even an integral leather trim.

Integral leather trim

The ultimate expression of sporting luxury but rarely found in a small car, "integral leather" is an exceptional feature incorporating leather-lined seats and fascia panel. Visible stitching underlines the very upmarket character of this trim.

Four options are available:

a black leather fascia panel, smooth/perforated black leather seats;

Fusion red leather fascia panel, two-tone red/black leather steering wheel, Fusion red perforated leather seats accompanied by smooth black leather;

Alezan leather fascia panel, two-tone black/alezan steering wheel, smooth/perforated alezan leather seats;

black leather fascia panel, smooth/perforated Oran leather seats;

Two accessories… very CC…

The wind stop

While the aerodynamics of the 207 CC have been designed with meticulous care, a wind stop has also been developed to enhance the comfort of the front passengers in the cabriolet configuration while driving at high speed. It lessens the effect of air currents and noise and, in conjunction with the intelligent automatic air conditioning, allows occupants to enjoy a high level of comfort.

Easy to install, it covers the rear seats, thereby protecting clothing left on the seats.

It consists of four flexible sections which means it can be folded and stored vertically in the boot in its protective cover.

The luggage rack

The perfect accessory for cabriolets, the luggage rack is an elegant chrome-plated luggage holder designed by the Peugeot Style Centre. It allows 30 kg of additional luggage to be carried on the boot lid.
